SEO, short for Search Engine Optimization, refers to the techniques used to increase a website’s page ranking on a search engine which will subsequently lead to more traffic.
There are two different strands of ethical (otherwise known as ‘white hat’) SEO. They are known as ‘On Page’ SEO and ‘Off Page’ SEO. On Page SEO techniques involve various practices, one of which is identifying ‘keywords’ and then placing them throughout the site. Say, for example, you are a local Coffee Shop looking for more customers. You might choose ‘organic coffee’, ‘freshly brewed coffee’ and ‘hot coffee’ as some of your keywords and then mention those phrases in articles and blog posts on your site. This’ll help ensure you show up in searches for those words on search engines such as Google. Of course, when choosing a keyword, you’ll also need to consider the kind of competition there is for it and if you might be better off choosing something with less competition which will help easier ranking.
Off Page SEO refers to getting other websites to link to yours and establishing a presence with local listing websites and social networks. The latter of which is particularly important for local SEO. We’ll work with you to help identify and target these sites and improve your overall page rank while also throwing in other important on page and off page SEO aspects regarding how your website is set up and laid out.
